MCP capabilities & key safety

Read and write access

A connected client can work with training context such as activities, wellness, plan information, races and coaching memory. Available actions can also update your Peaklab plan, races and memory. Review proposed changes and check the resulting state in Peaklab.

MCP is a connection used by your external AI client. It is not the same as Peaklab’s proactive coach or its scheduled plan reviews.

Rotate a key

1. Open MCP and choose Rotate key.
2. Confirm the operation in the app.
3. Replace the old URL or configuration in every client you want to keep connected.
4. Test the new connection. The old key should no longer be used.

When a connection fails

• Check that you copied the full personal URL, not just the server address, when the client has no separate key field.
• Check whether the key was rotated since the client was configured.
• Check that the connection is set to remote or streamable HTTP and not STDIO. This is the most frequent cause of a connection that looks active but offers no tools.
• Confirm the client supports a remote MCP server over streamable HTTP, or bridge it through the JSON config.
• Remember that a client running in the cloud cannot reach a Peaklab instance on localhost.
• Do not share credentials while asking for troubleshooting help.
